Enable Browser Notifications
Floral Stock can send you a notification — on your computer or phone — when something needs your attention, such as an order update, a finished file upload, or standing‑order pricing. These arrive even when the Floral Stock tab is closed, so you don't have to keep it open to stay informed.
Turn notifications on
- Open the bell icon in the top navigation bar.
- At the bottom of the panel, choose Enable browser notifications.
- Your browser will ask for permission — choose Allow.
That's it. You'll start receiving notifications on this device.
To stop receiving them on a device, open the bell again and choose Disable browser notifications.
Install Floral Stock as an app (recommended on phones)
For the most reliable notifications — especially on a phone — install Floral Stock as an app from your browser:
- iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Open Floral Stock from the new home‑screen icon, then enable notifications from the bell.
- Android (Chrome): tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app.
- Desktop (Chrome / Edge): use the install icon in the address bar.
If your device was offline
Notifications arrive in the background — you don't need Floral Stock open to receive them. The only thing background delivery can't cover is a stretch where your device was offline or unreachable: a notification sent during that window may not arrive. Floral Stock closes that gap the next time you come back — open the app (or switch back to its tab) and it quietly reconciles anything that didn't get through, so nothing is lost.
:::note On iPhone and iPad Installed as an app, Floral Stock delivers notifications in the background just like any other platform. What Apple doesn't allow is automatic background checking, so if a notification is ever missed while you're away, you're caught up the moment you reopen the installed app. Installing it to your Home Screen (above) gives the best experience. :::
Troubleshooting
- "Browser notifications aren't set up for this site yet." This one isn't something you can fix from your device — it means notifications still need to be configured for your Floral Stock site. Contact support and mention this message.
- "Your device's notification registration was out of date." Tap the toggle once more. This happens when notification settings changed on the server since the last time this device registered, and retrying re-registers it.
- "Notifications couldn't start on this device." Reload the page and try again. If it keeps happening, close and reopen the installed app, or try a different browser.
- "We couldn't save your notification settings." Your device registered but the setting didn't reach us — usually a brief connection drop. Try the toggle again.
- "Notifications are blocked." Your browser is blocking them. Open your browser's site settings for Floral Stock and set Notifications to Allow, then try the toggle again.
- No toggle appears. Your browser doesn't support notifications. Try a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari, or install Floral Stock as an app.
- Not receiving them on a phone. Make sure you opened Floral Stock from the installed Home‑Screen / app icon (not just a browser tab) and that your phone's system settings allow notifications for it.
